Park Lane Ala Moana is a LEED® certified ultra-luxury condominium project is located at the world’s largest open-air shopping mall in Honolulu, Hawai`i. The project boasts the highest level of luxury living for any condominium development in the islands.

Working within the site’s 100-foot height limit, the design is composed of seven individual eight-story towers, spread across an enormous site.

The design focuses on the view of the Pacific Ocean. Park lane makes excellent use of terracing, an intriguing variation in the facade and lanai projections, and is seemingly encompassed by the vegetation incorporated into the project.

A seamless transition between the interior space of the unit and the associated lanai was provided by a diligent selection of sliding glass doors, creating a perfect indoor-outdoor living arrangement.

To facilitate construction of the new towers, an existing parking structure needed to be replaced. To coordinate with the opening of a new wing at the mall, the project was divided in two and permitted as a commercial parking garage and a later residential tower. The commercial parking garage creates nearly 1.300 parking stalls, while the residential portion provides for over 200 new units with associated amenities and parking.

I worked on this project while with Benjamin Woo Architects, and it was done in collaboration with the San Francisco office of Solomon Cordwell Buenz. The drawings were completed in Autodesk Revit.
